"Over All Over Once again" is a song recorded by Canadian country group James Barker Ring. The song was co-written by the ring'southward frontman James Barker, forth with Gavin Slate, Travis Woods, and producer Todd Clark.[ane] It was their start single released after signing with Sony Music Nashville and Villa 40 in the U.s..[2]

The band'southward frontman James Barker wrote "Over All Once more" with his co-writers during a two-mean solar day locked-down writing session in Nashville, Tennessee during the COVID-19 pandemic.[3] He said it "felt like the correct song at the right time" to exist their first single on a U.S. characterization with Sony Music Nashville and Villa 40.[4] Barker noted inspiration from Ronnie Milsap'due south "Smoky Mountain Rain", viewing at equally a "refreshed" version of the band's music and their introduction to Nashville.[5] He said there is a "kind of blueness to it from the darkness of the chords and melody, just the tempo keeps it articulate of whatever gloomy territory".[4]
Critical reception [edit]
Caleigh DeCaprio of NY Country Swag stated that while the song speaks to a "relatively more serious situation" than the ring's previous music, it contains the "effortlessly flawless vocals" and "unique audio and style" from the band.[6] Katrina Milich of Complete State called the rails the "perfect vocal to blast while driving with the windows downwards", saying it is "fun and upbeat just so relatable".[7] Madeline Crone of American Songwriter said the song "exhibits the band's growth while honing their arts and crafts in Nashville".[8] Top Country named "Over All Again" their "Choice of the Week" for August 8, 2021, noting a "bluesy undertone".[9]
Commercial performance [edit]
"Over All Over Again" reached a peak of number i on Billboard Canada Land nautical chart for the week of September 25, 2021,[ten] becoming the band's third chart-topper in their home state.[11] It also peaked at number 68 on the Canadian Hot 100 for the calendar week of August 21, 2021, marker their highest charting entry in that location, subsequently surpassed by the song's follow-upwardly single "New Old Trucks" in 2022.[12]
